The Saginaw transmission was engineered and manufactured in Saginaw Michigan for the Chevrolet General Motors, vehicles with RPO code M15 utilized the Saginaw 3 speed, you should be able to find a “S” on the passenger side of the case rear cover. RPO code M20 significances the 4 Speed version, this overdrive will have a code of “O”. These transmissions have cast iron case and tail housings, each transmission has a 7 bolt side cover, the units are full synchronized and the rings have 30 teeth. . Electric overdrives were used on some 1966-1969 models. The 4 Speed Saginaw has a five step cluster, straight cut reverse gear on the outside of the 1/2 slider with 3 shifter cams in side the side cover.
