The MP1226XHD is RPO code NQG, this is a heavy duty version transfer 2 year warrantycase it has a 29 Spline input, 31 Spline rear slip, female spline front output, behind 6L90LCT & Allison 1000 automatic transmission. It is a part time synchronized, two speed transfer case with 2WD, 4Hi, 4Lo, Neutral, Utilizes a 5 Pinion planetary design and 1.5 inch chain, and is rated at 1180-1327 ft lbs
torque.
Potential problems with the MP1226XHD Transfer Case
This unit can have issues with case failure caused by out of balance rear driveshafts, at the first sign of vibration it is time to get the
driveline inspected, repaired and high speed balanced before case failure. High mileage will contribute to failure of the range hub, range fork and input shaft, this failure is exhibited by the unit popping out of gear. Be sure that at each oil change you check the fluid level in the MP1226XHD. Recommended fluid for the MP1226XHD transfer case is Dextron ATF.
