I have a 2001 Chevrolet 2500 Heavy Duty, 6.0L Automatic 4WDQuestion:  I have a 2001 Chevy 2500HD with a np261HD transfer case. The front ujoint is worn out so I started taking the front driveshaft out. Until I could not get the slip yoke out of the transfer case. I have tried everything i can think of, heat, rust penetrate, hammer, bigger hammer, strap pulling on it while heating it up then a big hammer. Nothing will get the slip yoke to come out of the transfer case. Any suggestions?Answer:   You will need to carefully cut the Yoke off then disassemble the transfer case. During the reassembly you will need  to replace the front output shaft along with the slip yoke.  Give us a call and we can help you with parts.
