AX5 Conversion to AX15
I am having problems with my 1986 Jeep AX5 , can you provide information on the AX5, and I have heard about a transmission model upgrade to the AX15 can you provide info on this conversion project also?

The AX5 transmission was made by Aisin Warner, is a top shifting overdrive unit length is 24 inches. The AX5 is a manual shift, five-speed transmission lightweight transmission. This transmission was used 1984 to 2006 Jeep XJ, YJ & TJ models. It's found in AMC 150 (2.5L) I4 engine and It had been also found behind the GM 2.8L. The AX5 is traditionally used and it is regarded as a light-weight split-case, top shifting, overdrive transmission. The AX5 is completely synchronized in all gears. All gears are helical cut. This transmission was also used in the Dodge 2.5L Dakota. The effectiveness of the AX15 makes if very popular with the off road network.
