1972 Chevrolet Transmission Swap Automatic to Manual

I have a 1972 Blazer 4WD with the 350Question:  I am researching a transmission swap online. Looking to swap my automatic for a 5 speed tranny. I have seen that for my application, the NV 3500/4500 could work. Not for heavy towing, but that's not what this Blazer is for. What transmission do you recommend?Answer:We can do a NV4500 conversion. The NV3550 would be a little weak for this weight of vehicle not to mention to tall of gears in the 1st and 2nd selection.  Our conversion kit for your application includes:

  • New NV4500 4x4 trans $1695.00 outright no core charge

  • 712576 Conversion bell housing package $389.00

  • Clutch and flywheel $300.00

  • Shift stub and stick included with trans

  • 50-0218 NV4500 to 27 spline NP205 adapter kit $599.00 plus S&H.

This would be a bolt in application and the bell kit would allow for either hydraulic or bell style manual clutch linkage. You will need to acquire the clutch pedals for the conversion.  This transmission will have a 12 month warranty.  You can see the other parts that we can supply for the NV4500 on our site.
